Microbe Plus® Citrus

Product Description and Characteristics

Microbially active foliar fertiliser fortified with macro and micronutrients.

Microbe plus® Citrus is a foliar fertiliser that has been specifically designed for application to citrus trees — but can be equally effective for a range of horticultural crops.

In the citrus industry foliar fertiliser can improve yields through direct application of nutrients to where they will deliver the fastest response. The efficiency of foliar application can be greatly improved by integrating with microbial cultures, and microbial metabolites.

Microbial metabolites are important constituents of Microbe Plus Citrus. They are major building blocks of plant cells and bio-stimulants which have positive effects on growth, yield and quality, while mitigating potential damage from exogenous stress factors such as heat, frost, salinity and chemicals.

In the commercial citrus industry, soil K uptake has limitations typically due to cation imbalances in the soil. Foliar K absorption is far more efficient, helping to deliver better yields. Calcium is a constituent of the cell walls in the form of calcium pectate. Calcium root uptake is often hindered by poor cation exchange and poor calcium: magnesium ratios in the soil—ratios that are important to overall soil structure. Foliar application of calcium is a widely accepted practice. Microbe Plus Citrus contains calcium in organic acid chelated form, which has more effective penetration through the leaf surface allowing calcium to be more readily available to the tree.

BENEFITS OF MICROBE PLUS CITRUS IN FOLIAR APPLLICATION

  • Microbe Plus Citrus delivers a complete blend of macro and micro nutrients
  • Absorption of nutrients is enhanced by improved penetration of ions through the leaf cuticle layer via organic acid chelation
  • Improves resistance of the plant to various stress factors
  • Improves fruit quality, fruit size, colour and shape
  • Rapidly corrects macro and micro nutrient deficiencies

Microbe Plus Citrus is suitable for use in horticultural crops as a foliar application during the critical growing period. Crops include citrus, almond, walnut, grapes, apple, tomato, potato, mango, banana, kiwi fruit, and many vegetables.

How GrowGreen Fertilizers help Plants against Drought

Drought is a devastating natural hazard, due to the negative effects of the climatic change, the percentage of the planet affected by drought has more than doubled in the last 40 years (FAO). Water deficit in plants is considered as one of the major abiotic stresses (Jaleel et al., 2009). Plants exposed to severe drought

Lupin Production Using GrowGreen Products

Lupins: A global perspective Lupins, which are members of the legume family, originated more or less simultaneously in both North and South America and in the Mediterranean, and have a rich history as a food starting with both the early Egyptian and pre-Incan civilizations. The Roman agriculturists also recognized lupins for their role in soil fertility
